One day: the rock and the town

Morning: climb El Peñón de Guatapé early, about two hours between going up, staying at the top and coming down.

Afternoon: the town on foot. The Plazoleta de los Zócalos (45 min), the Calle del Recuerdo (40 min), the Calle de las Sombrillas (35 min) and the church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen (30 min).

Two days: add the reservoir

Morning of the second day: the Malecón San Juan del Puerto waterfront (1 h) and a boat trip on the reservoir (2 h), with its islands and peninsulas.

Afternoon: the Plazoleta del Artesano (45 min), the Anticuario Pasaje del Recuerdo (40 min) and sunset at the Mirador San José viewpoint (50 min).

Three days: the countryside

Morning of the third day: a working farm open to visitors (3 h), to see Guatapé's countryside up close.

Afternoon: the Monasterio Santa María de la Epifanía (1 h 15), a Benedictine abbey at 2,000 metres. If the weather allows, you can fly over the reservoir by helicopter (1 h 30).
